growing up...

hello people... !!! my first entry to the blog world.. when anyone is new to something there is a possibility of him or her of making mistakes and if I happen to do any forgive me.. will try to improve upon them...
there are few hours left for a special moment in my life...no! i am not getting married or something like that.... its just that i am going to turn 18 soon... and my mom has already started telling me some things like "you are 18 now, grow up" and i start wondering... whats growing up? is it beginning to behave matured? is it leaving behind all those mischievous behaviours? is it about the right to vote? is it about getting to know the harsh facts of life? or is it just being growing up physically? GROW UP!! is it in my hands? people tell me to grow up, why me? every individual who is on the path to adulthood is always told to grow up. but we forget that there is always a child hidden in our hearts.. as we grow up we leave behind many things. we distant our self from relations, our conversations decrease, we tend to create our own world forgetting about another world we live in. as a child we "need" others to feed us, to guide us, to teach us but as we grow the "needs" are fulfilled and we start hating the guidance by others. we want to be our own masters!

childhood was always fun for me. it was the time when no one asked you to grow up, it was the time when everyone helped you in whatever you do, but now people think that she has grown up, she can take her own decisions, but they forget that growing up doesn't mean breaking the bonds we shared, the dependency which we had.

sometimes i wonder why people celebrate their birthdays when they know that their life on this earth is getting decreased day by day and they are growing up! we know that we are getting older but still we cut the cake, celebrate and have fun. maybe because we want to hide the pain of growing up. :) just a few hours remaining to get the messages on my cell, a few hours to get pampered, to get wishes and gifts!
i love all these things but this time i am going to grow up with some special kids from "Disha school for special children" who grew up by body but their hearts and minds are still small. and i will enjoy my growing up with these lucky people who are still innocent, special by their own way.

as our body grows up we need to grow up by mind, i agree but people donut you think that by heart we need to remain a child forever to enjoy life in a real way? something from my childish heart to the grownup minds! accept it if you feel its right.. criticisms always accepted! :) hoping to post soon..

  11. well written, but all i can say is we can really enjoy life if we are "child-like" . Its different from being "childish". There are middle aged and old people who are extremely happy n successful because they have retained their child-like quality. Reading your article gives a feeling that you are doing well with that growing up thing . Forget wat people say :D
